These plans are amazing!!
Path to powerlifting 1, really like it.
Just finished all three of Jeff Nippards Powerbuilding Programs and wanted to try full on powerlifting. Running PoP 1, really enjoying both the program, the app and the private discord.
One of my favorite CBB programs that I ran was Powerbuilding 3. I ran PB3 immediately following a meet in 2023. Thanks to the insane foundation and increase in work capacity from that program, alongside the amazing discord community, I was able to increase my total from 575kg to 740+ in about a year and a half. I had approximately 2 years of training experience going into CBB, and am blown away by what I've learned to be possible.
I just finished running Path Of Powerlifting 1 moderate volume 4 week program. I ran this program with the intent of competing for my third time. A years ago at my first competition my squat, bench, and deadlift PRs were 155kg, 120kg, and 192.5 kg. A year later to the day after consistently working with CBB this entire year my new competition PRs were squat 227.5, bench 147.5, deadlift 227.5 giving me a total gain of 135kg in one year!
As a student, I'm happy there was a big discount period, so I could try the app! Been wanting to, and now happy I finally did! The app and the plethora of programs made it feel so tailored to what I wanted to train, and provided necessary info and videos when needed. Albeit not being lifetime PRs, I'm now the strongest I've been after my injury and surgery, so I hope this app will lead me to those goals one day! I'm sticking with the app!
I wasn't using an app before this. I tried a few run-throughs of the free 16-week program and really enjoyed it, so I decided to give this a try. I'm currently doing the Powerbuilding II program and seeing good results with it. I like the mix of powerlifting and hypertrophy, especially since I'm not planning to compete in any meets soon but still love squatting, benching, and deadlifting. Plus, I have limited equipment in my garage gym, so it works well for me.
I came to the CBB app after several years of a range of training and programming for myself, having in-person and remote coaches, and using other structured and AI based services. I’m now in my 3rd CBB program, already having set dozens of new PRs in nearly every angle of my training as well as all-time PR Deadlift, Total, and Dots in competition. The programs and app’s organization and functionality paired with the support and guidance of the CBB crew and Discord Community has made this the most fun I’ve had in the sport while staying pain-free and motivated!
Hey CBB-Team, I just finished PoP 2 & PoP3 and for me, even as a non-competing Powerlifter, it‘s so much fun and motivating to run your programms. Of course I‘m getting stronger and stronger through your work - but what‘s way more important for me is that you all really seem to be nice folks. :) I really appreciate your vibe which is so far away from (I don‘t have a better expression at the moment) „toxic masculinity“ and „we are the last real men because we lift heavy weights“ kind of stuff. That‘s so refreshing and, in my opinion, very important. Thank you so much! :)
The CBB app discord is an incredible asset, the community and the coaches form checks are worth as much as the app and programs. The positive spirit, different training perspectives and unique experiences everyone has had leads to a great resource of powerlifting/life advice. I was previously running the CBB 16 program and made insane progress on it which caused me to sign up for the app. Since then I've ran newer CBB 16 iterations, the Off-season program, Powerbuilding 2 and PoP IV programs. It's introduced me to new styles of training and helped me hit some big PRs.
I just finished the Max Efficiency program and really enjoyed it. I get maybe 60-90 minutes to leave work, get to the gym, lift, shower and change, and get back to work so a program that gets volume in without taking too long is ideal. I did think that some of the defaults would require setting up too much equipment which would add extra time, but there are alternatives listed that solve that problem with less setup. I had some trouble with feeling burned out and fatigued with training in the past few months and this program has helped me regain some confidence to push the weights.
Prior to joining the CBB app. I was signed up for my first powerlifting meeting as a fitness goal to help me get back into shape. I was following the Cube method off of some generic copy paste website. My first meet was below average following that program. I totaled 467.5 kg. Squat- 155 kg bench- 120 kg deadlift- 192.5 After this meet I discovered CBB and immediately signed up for the app. I immediately signed up for another competition and completed the CBB 16-3. After running this program my numbers exploded. I hit a 72.5 kilo all time total PR. Squatting 195kg benching- 135 kg and deadlifting 210 kg Being apart of this app and community has given me such confidence and strength. The coaches and community are top notch. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Calgary Barbell
Just finished PoPII. I did CBB 16 twice, competed at USAPL Regionals, then went into off season and did PB 2 & 3, then did PoPII. For me, that series was pure magic. At regionals 20 weeks ago I hit a squat at 551#, bench at 314#, and a deadlift of 601#. The last 2 weeks of PoPII I hit a squat at 560# for 3 at RPE 7, bench at 310# for 3 at 7.5 RPE, and a deadlift at 580# for 3 at 7.5. I am beyond stoked with this progress and could not be happier with the program. I loved the workout structure and overall layout of each day and week. There was enough repetition and variation of SBD that I feel I was able to really hone in form, but not over repetitions that I felt burnt out. The program is really well balanced, and the results were incredible. Honestly, I do not have 1 critique of PoPII. I am excited to start PoPIII next week.
I was running the Stronger By The Day app which I loved because it introduced weight lifting into my fitness routine and helped me prep for my first meet. But then I really wanted to dive into the powerlifting style training and continue to get better because I fell in love with the sport. I had followed Calgary barbell for a while and loved their educational videos and then just wanted to try out the app to see if I could get some specific help with this powerlifting journey since I hadn’t hired a one-on-one coach and knew that wasn’t in my budget right now. It’s been worth EVERY PENNY. I was very nervous because I know I’m not the best or most fit “athlete”being a plus size woman but just wanted to try and all three coaches were amazing for my check ins and the discord community was top notch at making me feel welcomed and helped with any form checks I needed or any other general questions. I ran Path Of Powerlifting I low volume and saw huge changes in my lifting techniques because of all the help from the coaches and the community. I am currently doing Path of powerlifting IV to prep for my second meet in October.
I'll start by saying that the Calgary Barbell app, coaches, and community have literally been the one of the greatest things to happen to me. In the fall of 2022 I joined the app with an 885 total. I had used 5x5 programs and 5,3,1 programs and nothing was working well for me. One day I was scrolling through YouTube videos and found a video titled "How to Squat" by CBB and it started from there. I decided to get serious about powerlifting and less than 2 years later, I'm about to compete in my 4th competition and I'm expecting to put up a 1450+ total. I joined with that 885 total and put up an 1145 at my first competition in May of 2023. It took a lot of work on my side, but without the coaches, programs, and community I know I wouldn't have been anywhere near that total. The app is extremely user friendly and makes it easy to track progress. I can easily log every aspect of every training session. Each days workout is clearly laid out and easy to follow. If I ever have confusion on an exercise I can click on it and it pulls up a video of bryce explaining it. So far I've had a few programs on repeat that have been really working for me: 16-1, 16-2, 16-3, PowerBuilding 2, and Powerbuilding 3. Bryce keeps adding new programs into the app so I'm about to branch out and try new ones. So far I haven't been disappointed with the results of any program he has written.
