“Hi, my name is Julian Gurr. I've been a member of Chase's Guitar Academy now for about two weeks, and I'm already convinced that I'll be hanging around for a great deal longer. It's the best, most motivating guitar platform that I've ever been privileged to be part of. Indeed, I was on the verge of giving up trying to learn jazz guitar completely. I'd spent years trying to learn from books and other video courses, the Internet and so on, and was just overwhelmed and frustrated. I'd learned quite successfully a few fixed arrangements which I could play by rote, but I never made the breakthrough to what I believe jazz is really all about, which is free improvisation, or at least freer than I've been able to manage this far. What's so fantastic about Chase's guitar academy is the structured way it builds step by step, not any repertoire, but vocabulary and vocabulary not just made up from from a random set of rules or even a well thought through set of rules. It's actual jazz master vocabulary taken from real master solos. Chase has taken a lot of time to transcribe and analyze the small building blocks of jazz solos into what he calls the nine essential jazz phrases and a similar number of jazz vocabulary concepts. And this is what has been missing from all the other resources that I've used in the past. I've either been learning repertoire without the improvisation, or I've been working through decontextualized improvisation type exercises, and never the twain have met and it's been really frustrating. What's so great about Chase's Guitar Academy is the way that his Master Standards Blueprint course or pathway and his Master Improvisation Pathway work in tandem. They work beautifully together, each mutually supporting the other. So as you are learning a series of carefully sequenced standards, from fairly simple modal harmony to more complex standards, you're learning actual real phrasing and vocabulary from the jazz masters, which you can apply immediately to those tunes that you're learning. Other courses are similarly integrated with the learning of vocabulary. So as you learn, for example, a series of jazz blues tunes, you're also learning phrasing and vocabulary concepts which can be applied immediately to those. So that is incredibly motivating. If, as I urge you, you do take advantage of the seven day free trial, I'd suggest taking a look at what is called the fundamentals area of Chase's Guitar Academy. And there you'll find some very clear insights into the way that he thinks about and structures his teaching. Not only the what to practice and the how to practice, but the why. The why it works. And I can assure you after only two weeks, I'm noticing it definitely does work. If you trust the process and work your way through the very well structured courses available, you will notice really significant progress, as I am already within just two weeks. So obviously the other areas to look at during a free trial would be the Master Standards blueprint course and the Master Improvisation blueprint course. There's loads of other stuff there, but those areas I would say should be your focus during the seven day free trial. I'd then urge you to subscribe for at least a month and dig in deeper and just notice that if you do trust the process and follow the courses in their very well organized structure, you will make progress and it will be incredibly motivating and really fun. Which is why we all play music. Yeah, play it puts the play back into music. It is work, but it's. It's fun work and it's work that will pay off. So give it a go. It's really definitely worth it.”
