I stopped seeing sponsorships as a battle to be won, but as a partnership to be built.

One of the most nerve-wracking moments for a creator is hitting 'send' on a draft video to a sponsor, especially when it's filled with your unfiltered opinions. I had that moment this week. The reply came back almost immediately: "Approved. No changes." This outcome isn't about being in opposition to a brand or "winning" a negotiation. It's the result of a fundamental transformation in how I run my creator business—a shift from hope to strategy. Before reading Sponsor Magnet, my approach to sponsorships was reactive. I saw my videos as the product and hoped a brand would like them. After, I learned to see my entire business as the product—my brand, my audience's trust, and my unique voice. More importantly, I stopped seeing sponsorships as a battle to be won, but as a partnership to be built. I thought I was fairly knowledgeable about pricing and outreach. I was wrong.
