I haven't used a ton of them document generators. The built-in one in SmartSuite is painful to use. I've tried to integrate Adobe but sheesh... Then you showed up in Glide and I thought I'd give it a try. This is the easiest and most flexible one I've seen. Aside from having it natively integrated everywhere in my stack, I actually can't imagine how it can get easier to use than what you've built.
Docsautomator have helped me creating super complex documents which I had no clue how to create these with other tools as Zapier or Make.com. The UI is super friendly and easy to use and above that the customer service is fast and reliable. I have never been helped so quickly. I'm currently recommending this tool to all of my friends.
Docsautomator is a gamechanger in No Code PDF creation with Airtable, Glide or through API (which through Zapier or Make opens it up for any application). Before you always needed to learn clumsy programs to create a neat layout. Now, with Docsautomator, you can just use the tool you already use (Google Docs) and immediately make a template out of any Google Doc you already have for automatic PDF creation. We built a pretty cool app for my team to use in Airtable and were able to automate many steps that used to be manually and/or skipped entirely in our old Monday platform setup. There was one remaining pain the butt element, which was creating a PDF that gathered data from multiple Tables to create what we call a "TECHPACK" which is a recipe that tells somehow how to make a specific produce. We used the internal Airtable Document Designer tool, which allowed us to create a beautiful PDF... however it... 1) Required manual creation 2) Manually printing -> save as PDF 3) Did not have a shareable link Those 3 steps required diligence and 3-4 minutes to create. It was something that was often forgotten or skipped when changes were made and caused errors and production issues. No matter how much I reinforced the importance of those steps, it was hard to keep up with in the busy busy tasks of our day. I searched hard for a solution. Tried a couple alternatives and spent around 5-8 hours each on 3 different options to automate document creation. Some seems good, but were hard to setup. Some where easy to setup but controlling the look and feel was difficult. I spent too much time trying solutions and not solving it. Then I stumped onto Docsautomator. I paid a small fee immediately for them to setup my doc. Saved me 5 hours of experimenting and learning. Well worth the small fee. Saved time and headaches. My doc worked quickly. A couple tweaks, and setup and before you know it I had a Button in my Airtable Interface that my team clicked in real time, and a PDF and a sharable Google Doc was created. We've created 160 Techpacks in the last couple days, and it has saved at least 640 mindless pain in the rump minutes for us to focus elsewhere. The support Rupert has offered is amazing and I love supporting a developer who is on a mission to solve problems like this. It reminds me of the early Open Source days when a community of people got together to solve software problems together. We built a pretty cool app for my team to use in Airtable and were able to automate many steps that used to be manually and/or skipped entirely in our old Monday platform setup. There was one remaining pain the butt element, which was creating a PDF that gathered data from multiple Tables to create what we call a "TECHPACK" which is a recipe that tells somehow how to make a specific produce. We used the internal Airtable Document Designer tool, which allowed us to create a beautiful PDF... however it... 1) Required manual creation 2) Manually printing -> save as PDF 3) Did not have a shareable link Those 3 steps required diligence and 3-4 minutes to create. It was something that was often forgotten or skipped when changes were made and caused errors and production issues. No matter how much I reinforced the importance of those steps, it was hard to keep up with in the busy busy tasks of our day. I searched hard for a solution. Tried a couple alternatives and spent around 5-8 hours each on 3 different options to automate document creation. Some seems good, but were hard to setup. Some where easy to setup but controlling the look and feel was difficult. I spent too much time trying solutions and not solving it. Then I stumped onto Docsautomator. I paid a small fee immediately for them to setup my doc. Saved me 5 hours of experimenting and learning. Well worth the small fee. Saved time and headaches. My doc worked quickly. A couple tweaks, and setup and before you know it I had a Button in my Airtable Interface that my team clicked in real time, and a PDF and a sharable Google Doc was created. We've created 160 Techpacks in the last couple days, and it has saved at least 640 mindless pain in the rump minutes for us to focus elsewhere. The support Rupert has offered is amazing and I love supporting a developer who is on a mission to solve problems like this. It reminds me of the early Open Source days when a community of people got together to solve software problems together. Overall, this tool is amazing and well worth the effort to implement if you need a PDF or shareble link that compiles Airtable data.
