From Tired to Inspired — Can’t Recommend Her Enough!!💙 I've been taking C1 group classes with Issy since September last year, and I've never ever thought of quitting. I passed the Cambridge C1 exam today thanks to this course, and I really want to share my experience. Before I bought the course, I was at a solid B2 level and thought C1 wouldn’t be much harder. I quickly realised how huge the gap between B2 and C1 actually is, which honestly demotivated me at first. I never thought I would be able to pass it. I went for the self-study option. There’s a video series for every module (Reading, Use of English, Writing, Listening and Speaking) with genuinely valuable tips that show you exactly what’s expected in each task. On top of that, there are countless practice tests that get corrected instantly, with an AI explaining exactly where your mistakes are and why. This system that Issy built for every single task is what made the difference for me. I studied around 30 to 40 minutes a day, working through the practice tests and watching the videos. Over time my whole mindset shifted and I realised C1 was actually within reach. Without this course, I’d still be nowhere near it. What I appreciated most: the videos aren’t dragged out unnecessarily, they’re compact and to the point. Issy explains everything in a really likeable and clear way, which makes it easy to stay motivated. I can recommend this course to anyone preparing for the exam.

Although currently I'm not studying English for passing any official exam, English with Issy is helping me to improve in a quite funny way! All the resources are very helpful to me and are very well-explained! I've learnt plenty of phrasal verbs and I consider that the writing guide is amazing!

Llevo 2 meses siguiendo el programa, que se compone de clases online en directo con profesores nativos, donde se aborda cada una de las partes que evalúa Cambridge, además de una plataforma online con una gran cantidad de material que Issy ha generado. Se ha creado una comunidad de estudiantes bastante interesante que te motiva y te hace ir avanzando hacia el objetivo. Issy ha sido capaz de crear un programa muy completo donde te marca la ruta a seguir, te provee de una gran cantidad de recursos, y ya solo falta que tu le pongas las ganas y el tiempo necesario para que el resultado se un éxito asegurado. Recomiendo a todo aquel que esté interesado en mejorar su nivel de inglés y que parta ya de un nivel intermedio este programa. In textbooks, maybe you focus on grammar, you focus on use of English exercises and the speaking it's like there are two, three questions, but they don't focus on the strategy of speaking. This is what I liked about Issy. I think it's a matter of how she organised her class, and how she helped us organise what we know in order to communicate and use it the best we can to get better marks.

I'd also like to share that during this period I oversaw two international events, and they both went really well. One of the clients was so enthusiastic that she has already decided to organize the event again next year! I joined one of Issy's C2 Mastery groups a few months ago and her classes are so enjoyable that I wish I had done it sooner. I met Issy in 2016 when she became my English teacher. We worked together for a few months before I moved to the UK. She is a lovely person, very patient and keen to help her students to perform their best. She gives a lot of examples and as she is also able to speak Portuguese, it enables her to identify the differences between the languages and we could focus on what was “new/unusual” for me. By that I mean the pronunciation of many letters/words we wouldn’t normally have in Portuguese for example. To learn English with Issy was definitely enjoyable and fun. Something to look forward to.

All my projects went well, I passed the First Exam and graduated, too!! Regarding the English Exam, I can't thank you enough, I couldn't have done it without your strategies, tips and mindset. Apart from the marks, which are important but not essential, your speaking course gave me a boost of self-confidence and optimism to go through this exam. I attended classes in group B2. The atmosphere in the classes is very friendly, no rush, everything is relaxed but productive at the same time. I want to point out that very rarely does a teacher pay due attention to teaching writing, but in Issy's classes this is not the case. She explains the structure of different types of written work very well, which also helps to prepare for the exam. Issy evaluates each written work like a Cambridge examiner and gives advice on how to improve your style.

Dear Issy, I have recently passed my C1 exam and I wanted to share with you my experience as well as my results. I am overjoyed to share that I have reached the C1 level, although I was (unfortunately) two points short of a grade A. Nevertheless, this exam has been very insightful and showed me the areas where I can improve, which I find invaluable. My speaking result was a pleasant surprise for me. The examiners were speaking as if they were in a rush, giving little time to respond to the interview questions. Then, I was presented with pictures of people cooking in different situations. As I was a little nervous about the timing, I spoke a bit too rapidly, finishing 3 to 5 seconds early. I struggled to find additional comments to make about the pictures. For part 3, I was paired with a very friendly partner, who tented to give lengthly opinions. Despite this, I managed to lead the conversation and was happy with the amount of time I was able to speak. This is all thanks to you, as I learned how to handle these kinds of situations during our speaking classes. Regarding the listening, I would say it generally went well, though I found it challenging to read the questions while listening to the audio. The last part was particularly tricky, as it involved different accents. In the Use of English, I was concerned about phrasal verbs, despite having learned them. Fortunately, there was only one that I was unsure about. I was also pleased that I managed my time and had some time to proofread my work. As for the reading, it went well overall. Since the exam was computer based, my eyes grew a little tired from staring at the screen. Finally, in the writing section, I ended up with an inspiring essay topic about the usefulness of different groups of people in society; scientists, sports people, and one additional group (which I unfortunately don’t recall). For the second task, I chose to write a review. I felt I may have done too many repetitions and wasn’t entirely confident about the tone I used, which might explain my lower score. I wanted to thank you once again for our speaking classes, which were incredibly helpful and gave me more confidence, as well as for all the strategies you gave in your recorded lessons.
