Just finished Changemaker by Kristina Bas Hamilton! A great book that gives valuable information and advice to people at every level of political experience. The portions on budget advocacy are especially valuable for those trying to make an impact in any state. KBH's insider tips are universal and I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to improve their advocacy skills.

My name is Anthony Angelini and I am the Government Affairs Director for the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce. "Changemaker" should be required reading for any advocate, new or old. Not only does it provide an amazing foundation for the new advocate, but even seasoned professionals have something to learn from this book. I would feel as comfortable giving this book to my intern as I would to my Assemblymember. The insider tips and tricks are essential and the easily digestible overview of the process makes it seem less ephemeral. This book takes what can be a scary process and gives the reader the confidence to believe it is within reach.

You don't know what you don't know, but Kristina brings a LOT into the know with Changemaker. There's a ton of thought and work that goes into advocacy in California, and this book served to be super useful towards navigating that process. Brief, informative, and to the point. If you're also trying to get sh*t done in CA, start here.
