My son got a gold in this year's junior kangaroo, having taken Kevin's classes for both the JMC and the kangaroo. He's absolutely delighted, as are his school, and it's a great lesson for him in working hard and achieving something on the back of this.

Kevin is a wonderful teacher and his classes not only support confident mathematicians but are also excellent for those who are able mathematically and alongside stretching maths benefit from building confidence in their own abilities. My daughter used Mathsaurus to work through JMC past papers and their clearly explained solutions. She also attended live sessions on Zoom, which she found stimulating and beneficial. Our 12-year old attended Kevin’s JMC classes during the Easter break, and surprised both us and himself by scoring 118 - so a ‘gold’ and ‘kangaroo’ qualification. More importantly though, he is really happy, and has learned that if he does some proper preparation for an exam he will do better. We look forward to using Mathsaurus in future.

The on line classes helped my daughter to gain extra confidence in tackling the harder JMC questions and gave her an insight into how questions could be approached in different ways. 5-Star Review: Incredibly Helpful for UKMT Olympiad Preparation I’ve used several Mathsaurus courses, including the JMC and JMO ones (both free and paid), and most recently the live group course for the Hamilton Olympiad. Across the board, these courses have been an amazing resource — I genuinely don’t think I would’ve earned two UKMT Olympiad golds without them. The Hamilton Olympiad course was especially memorable: three weeks of fast-paced, in-depth problem solving in a small group setting. Kevin Olding guided us through Olympiad-style questions, offered helpful hints when needed, and shared valuable general tips. His passion for maths is clear, and the lessons got progressively harder — which kept things challenging and engaging. We tackled questions at almost double the usual Olympiad pace, so it really pushed me to improve. The self-paced JMC and JMO courses were also useful — well-organized by subtopic and a good way to build up both skills and confidence. One thing I appreciated was learning test-specific strategies I hadn’t considered before, like using process of elimination in UKMT multiple-choice rounds. I would absolutely recommend Mathsaurus courses to anyone preparing for UKMT challenges or Olympiads. It’s the only site I’ve found that offers dedicated UKMT Olympiad training, and it absolutely delivers.

My daughter last year did JMO (Junior Math Olympiad) live lesson with Kevin and we still cant believe that she achieved a GOLD, and was "best in the school". Kevin was wonderful in teaching her the ways to write step by step answers to score, without which I feel she would have got a bronze or less. He also taught her how to allocate the timing for Section A and B which was a game changer. Highly highly recommend Mathsaurus.

My son did Kangaroo classes with Kevin as he was excited to do Kangaroo but also pretty nervous. Kevin combines fantastic maths teaching pitched at just the right level for these sessions with a calm and understated style that puts children at ease. We live in the EU but my 13-year old son goes to an international school following the British curriculum (IGCSEs and international A-levels). He is currently in Year 9. We discovered Mathsaurus last year and since then my son has won a Gold Certificate Best in School in the Junior Maths Challenge and a Certificate of Merit in the Junior Maths Olympiad (in Year 8), two Gold Certificates Best in Year in the Intermediate Maths Challenge (last year in Year 8 and this year in Year 9) and has qualified for the semi-finals in the Belgian Mathematical Olympiad (this year). His school is great but does not provide extra support for gifted students and does not teach maths in sets so I credit Kevin and his magic. Thank you so much! Kevin is an amazing tutor with a vast array of knowledge in the field of Mathematics and beyond. My daughters have both taken the on line live group lessons and the pre recorded JMC course. Both are excellent. Dr Olding has a very engaging and simple way of explaining quite complex problems and methods sometimes in multiple ways, which is a result of him being such an accomplished mathematician and practised teacher. My girls have learnt so much from both his courses and lessons, and really enjoy their time with him.

Hi Kevin, I went for JMO 2023 as a Year 6 student and got distinction (41 marks). I did the Go For Gold course and took your JMO prep lessons - the three week course. My daughter took a batch of 10 classes with Kevin as prep for IMC. I found Kevin extremely knowledgeable and accessible. I liked the fact that he would hear out a solution from a student and point out what it addressed and what it didn't address and another way to approach the problem. My son attended one of your Junior Olympiad classes just before the JMO 2022. He got a Gold Medal in the JMO. He also got a Silver in the Cayley Olympiad and he was put in for the SMC by the school and qualified for BMO1 later this month which will be a huge jump as he is only 13!
