This was a fantastic course for my overall SMC preparation. Last year, I was disappointed by stopping short & scraping the threshold for a Gold Certificate. Having reviewed this course early in my preparation, I scored a 125, qualifying for BMO1 as Best in School.

There are really good problems that help me get better and the solutions show more ways of solving a problem

Really Helpful Course, and the walkthroughs really help in giving a new insight of a way to approach a question, which I believe is crucial for Exams like these, to give us a general approach to different types of questions, and can be applied in a lot of places. 9.8/10

I've taken part in UKMT challenges throughout my years at secondary and always achieved bronze but with the help of the free SMC course and a few hours of practice I achieved gold on my first year of the senior maths challenge! The structure of the courses is really well thought out and approachable so I'll definitely make use of the kangaroo course too! I could not recommend Mathsaurus enough! :))

I liked the videos and different challenges

it helped me understand the quick tricks to making the problems easier and also taught me to approach problems from different angles

My favourite topic was most probably the reasoning with digits as it improved my problem solving alot. I haven't done the senior maths challenge yet but I have improved alot so I think I will do well.

The course was really helpful and helped me understand concepts I'm not so familiar with previously. Solutions to questions are explained very clearly.

I liked the fact that the course gave us the option to try the question without any hints, then allowed you to select your answer once the hint was given and then there was a worked solution

The test can be useful for all sorts of maths challengs. Mr Kevin Olding definitely "locked the numbers" in our head. Must try if you want to get high marks on all tests to do with maths.

Easy to navigate and helped a lot for going through hard problems. Video solutions were interactive and went through the important thinking process as well as tips for the future which really helps improve and become a better problem solver.

I loved the introduction to important topics and found it made the rest of the course much easier and helped me solve problems much faster.

This course is great for preliminary preparation for the IMC! It covered a variety of topics, for which the video explanations were very helpful. I also found each quiz similar to real IMC style questions.

I wouldn't study JMC properly before because i didn't know where to start, and i'd always get frustrated doing an entire past paper because i felt too difficult, but i can just get a pen and paper + open this on my laptop and start. I also like how it gives a hint if you know the answer or not and makes you rethink your answer, and that you can learn a lot from the solution

My son got a gold in this year's junior kangaroo, having taken Kevin's classes for both the JMC and the kangaroo. He's absolutely delighted, as are his school, and it's a great lesson for him in working hard and achieving something on the back of this.

I got into JMC Kangaroos and got gold and top of my school and felt like I aced it after using the Mathsaurus Kangaroos course for FREE to revise - a big leap from getting bronze in Kangaroos last time!

Good teaching and helped make tricky questions easier to understand!

This is about a month after I got my JMC result - bronze. After doing questions on Mathsaurus every day, and here I am, with an average score of gold and qualifying for Kangaroo and Olympiad (fluctuating between them at the moment). You can make loads of progress using Mathsaurus and learn loads of JMC techniques, like finding patterns with small numbers and scaling them up, to using theorems and algebra to make sure you find the correct answer efficiently. The format (question, hint, answer, solution) encourages you to try your best before you get the full solution, so you get your best shot at the questions. Use this website if you need help revising for JMC (like me). If you aren't doing the JMC, these are great exercises for your noodle and fun, too, so you'll enjoy doing them. I hope we'll get gold together in the next JMC!

Explanations really helped me to learn

The explanation to some of the more challenging questions was very helpful. Hoping to take the lessons from these challenges to the actual First Maths Challenge coming up. Thank you for the details explanations!

All of the solutions were really nicely explained and the hints given on the first paper were really helpful. It has been a great practice for the Kangaroo and I am feeling a little bit more confident.

It is nice, and i do it often

This was very helpful, for each question, the hint helped guide you on the right track without revealing too much of an answer. I think these courses are absolutely wonderful and much much much more helpful then any other website in order to prepare for your UKMT tests.

I enjoyed the way it was structured as it didn't feel like I full on blow of questions instead it was one question after the other with good explanations and it made me feel reassured and more confident if i were to try the UKMT.

This really helped as it got to to fly past gold and nearly go onto the olympiad only missing it by a small margin. In the kangaroo, I flew past gold again

I quite liked how certain rules like the interior angles in a triangle adding up to 180 were given reasoning and that there were a versatile range of problems available. I thought that the methods to all of the questions were quite clear and can be applied to multiple problems so that was really helpful. The tutorials at the start have theory in them that make even the hardest problems seem solvable.

The questions were interesting and the answers were surprising, even though this is for study purposes, I would also recommend it for people who like to think outside the regular curriculum.

Hello! I didn't even know what the Senior Maths Challenge was up until 2 weeks before I was doing it! I have never done anything similar to this so I thought I was completely going to fail. I have just been using Mathsaurus for 2 years, but in those years, the course has really helped me. From getting a participation in 2023, to a gold in 2024 and a Kangaroo in 2025, this course was very well designed for maths enthusiasts and complete beginners alike.
