I really wanted to build a garden that could sustain a few meals a week. And in the future I'd like to get to the point where I am making a lot of my own produce. I recently joined Radical Gardening. My name is Alex. I'm from Weaverville, North Carolina. Before Radical Gardening, I had some limited gardening experience, mainly doing it in containers on my porch. I kind of didn't know where to start. That was the biggest thing for me is there's a lot of information online, a lot of conflicting information, a lot of different types of gardens, a lot of different ways to start, and I really wanted just a clear path to follow. So then I joined the program and it's really given me the structure that I needed to kind of get up and get working. Before I was kind of just like taking shots in the dark of like maybe I could plant one plant here in this mulch bed around my yard. It really helped build the outline for a successful garden. I think that's the other biggest thing is I could see their success in lots of different gardens they've built over the years. And that was really big for me because if I'm going to dedicate all this time and energy to building a garden, I want to be following something that is going to produce results. One thing that I didn't even think of that was huge is the whole site assessment and so assessing where your sun is, where your water is, kind of the whole outline of your property and how to move forward from assessing your property to building the beds. It's a very accomplishing feeling. It's very self fulfilling and it's good for nature too. So it's nice to be doing this not just for myself, but also for the soil, for all the worms, for all the bugs. I think it's my also little way of giving back to this piece of property I live on. I feel great about joining. I'm very happy with my decision to join. I can definitely already start to see results. If you're thinking about joining Radical Gardening, it's not going to get the work done for you, but it is going to provide a very structured path to going from no garden at all to, to a very fruitful garden. If you're someone that likes structure and likes a clear pathway to success, then I definitely think that this program could be for you.

My name is Natalia. I am in my radical garden. Before the radical gardening school, I was kind of following my own intuition, random advice. But I had a lot of, like, discouraging little failures or, like, things that kept holding me back that I didn't really know how to get around. You know, didn't want to, like, consume endless amounts of random Internet knowledge. And I found Jonathan. Jonathan really spoke to all of my goals. He not only has all of the answers to gardening, but he also knows how to do things sustainably, how to keep your goals in mind. He might be in North Carolina, but there's things he knows about my garden zone that I'm awed by. I never feel judged, knows how to answer things in the best way possible. I'm really happy with the gardening school, and it has surpassed my expectations.
