I booked this for my husbands birthday. We both have crazy office jobs and never fully switch off. This is the perfect place to do so with our 2 sausage digs in tow. The facilities are great for back to basics cooking of an evening follows by smores on the fire and endless card games. The outside bath was stunning, the bath oil provided was to die for. We both stayed in there ages just admiring the view ❤️ We had the best time and feel fully relaxed. Thank you so much Leanne, Dan & Henry & Ziggy the sausages

Amazing place, everything you need to just relax and unwind. Would highly recommend for anyone needing some peace and quiet. The suggested walk to Masham, whilst not that obvious was worth it for a lovely little village with everything you'd need. Would love to go back, thank you.

Stayed in the sparrow lodge in Shropshire and couldn’t fault anything.probably the more secluded of the 4 lodges there. Lovely outdoor bath and large firepit. Didn’t see a soul for the 3 days we were there. Went into Ludlow for a few drinks which was easy in a taxi….(google local taxis in Ludlow ) Picked us up from our lodge and dropped us off straight back so no big walk if it’s raining.would definitely return .

This is a beautiful place to stay when you want to switch off (no signal or WiFi forces you to put your phone down!). The views are amazing, the cabin is surprisingly spacious and very aesthetic, it has everything you need and it’s super comfy, the bed was a dream. The only thing we found was that it was a little dusty, but it wouldn’t put me off going back. We went in autumn when it was getting quite cold but the heating was great, and the rainfall shower was a bonus too. It’s fun to get creative with cooking as there’s only 2 hobs and the fire pit outside (perfect for marshmallows). The hosts also sent a wealth of info before we stayed which was amazing. We can’t recommend these cabins enough for a short break away, especially if you’re a couple looking for something remote and romantic!

After a hectic few months raising our 4 month old and sorting our wedding, we wanted somewhere to completely switch off for a UK honeymoon break. Rest + Wild Shropshire was perfect. Quality family time with nobody around us bar the sheep and pheasants. The view was stunning, we spent hours each day just gazing out. The first night in the tub under the stars was incredible. Even the rain didn’t dampen the mood, as lighting the log fire and getting cosy listening to it hit the window was so relaxing. We had planned to explore more of Shropshire but just preferred making the most of the cabin, which tells you everything. Ludlow is perfect though for getting a nice lunch (Vaughans pork baguette is a must try!) and we loved going to Harp Lane Deli for some treats to eat when we got back. Ludlow brewery is also amazing, perfect for some treat beers back in the tub. Lots of local shops including an M&S food hall, all a 10 mins drive away. We can’t wait to go back and try some other locations too. 10/10 uk break (we have lots of these) and the perfect first family holiday to spend time with our baby.

We had a lovely stay in a truly stunning location. The cabin is beautifully designed, with a real attention to detail and a high standard throughout. Everything has been thoughtfully chosen, from the quality of the bedding and the very comfortable mattress to the kitchen equipment and furnishings. Nothing felt overlooked, and the quality really made a difference to our stay. It’s the perfect place to get away, relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. We’ll definitely be back!

My partner booked this little getaway after a particularly difficult few weeks following the loss of my family dog, and it turned out to be exactly what we didn’t know we needed. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at peace. We didn’t see a single other person throughout our entire stay, and there was something so lovely about being able to completely switch off from the outside world and just enjoy each other’s company. It really made us slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. We made the most of absolutely everything! From cooking over the outdoor fire pit, relaxing in the outdoor bath and exploring one of the recommended walking trails. Every little part of the experience felt so special. The attention to detail was wonderful, too. Everything we could possibly need had been thought of, and the quality of everything provided, from the bedding to the coffee and all the little extras, was exceptional. You can really tell how much care has gone into creating such a beautiful space. Neither of us wanted to leave, and our only regret was not booking a longer stay! I’m genuinely so sad to know that the Shropshire location will be closing from January. The Yorkshire location is unfortunately a little too far for us, which makes it even more bittersweet, as I know without a doubt that we would have become regular visitors. It’s rare to find somewhere that makes you feel quite as peaceful and content as this place did. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful little escape when it was needed most. It’s somewhere that will always hold a special place in our hearts 🤍

My partner and I stayed at one of your Yorkshire Dales cabins for my birthday. It was so much more than I could have hoped for, what an absolutely beautiful setting. We stayed in the Birch and the setting is nothing less than tranquil with beautiful views of the countryside. The location felt completely private and the outdoor bath and fire pit were blissful. This is the perfect place to unwind and I cannot wait to return.

Bought a two night stay for my partner for his birthday. We stayed at the Shropshire site in the Robin! Absolutely fantastic stay with lots of attention to detail being taken! All the cabins are spaced apart so you really are private! We took provisions to cook on the fire pit so can’t comment on the local eateries, and everything you could want for is provided! My only gripe (not R&W fault) is we followed a walk recommend in the arrival pack, but had to turn around half way as the farmer had blocked off the entrance to his field with electric fence! The bath tub is great which we used the second night under the stars! Highly recommend and will hopefully return in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rest and Wild. I’ll admit, I was initially a little worried about how remote it was, but there really was no need — the location was perfect. The views were spectacular, and being surrounded by so much wildlife made the whole experience feel incredibly special. It was exactly what we needed: a chance to switch off, slow down and reconnect with each other. Sitting outside, cooking our tea over the fire pit and doing very little other than enjoying the peace and each other was just bliss. The decor deserves a special mention too. It’s absolutely beautiful — thoughtful, stylish and cosy without feeling overdone. I loved it so much that I’ve come home wanting to recreate parts of it in my own home! My only regret is that we didn’t mention a slight issue to the hosts sooner. Once we did let them know, though, they were fantastic and rectified it as quickly as possible. Overall, a truly wonderful stay and somewhere we’d happily return to. Rest and Wild really gave us the opportunity to properly switch off, reconnect and enjoy the simple things.

We had the most wonderful two-night stay at the Robin cabin with Rest + Wild in Shropshire. ❤️ The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, private and with incredible views across Clee Hill. We loved that we were completely undisturbed, yet still close enough to Ludlow to explore. One of our favourite things was simply lying in the incredibly comfortable bed, looking out at the countryside and watching the sheep wander past. 🐑 It was exactly the kind of break we needed: two days to properly switch off, slow down and enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. If you want to find a little slice of heaven in the uk then this is the place to be! From arrival to leaving there was everything provided by the Rest + Wild team. The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking, safe and private and undisturbed. The little touches of comfortable linen sheets, an outdoor bath with hot water, soft fluffy towels and a divine smell of bay leaves from the reed diffusers-this is everything! Check in and out was easy and friendly but the most important was the time and reset for our tired parenting bodies. I cannot recommend Rest + Wild Shropshire enough. We have had a lovely couple of nights staying in the Wren Rest + Wild cabin. The setting is beautiful and the cabin is so well thought out with a super comfy bed and a better shower than most hotels I've stayed in! Our favourite aspects were cooking on the open fire and star gazing out of the big window from the bed. We even saw a tawny owl hunting right outside the window, which was so special to see. We would definitely stay again, perhaps in one of the other locations next time.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Harestail in Exmoor in July for 2 nights as part of a week long Devon and Cornwall trip and wow this was definitely one of the highlights for us. Neither of us wanted to leave and the cabin, surroundings and little details all just came together perfectly for an amazing experience. The cabin is beautiful and they really have thought of everything for you - down to marshmallows and fire starting tinder etc. The outdoor bath was perfect for cooling down in the heat but we also went to the river they suggested for some wild swimming which was great too! We were both sad to leave and would definitely come back. Only slight negative was that the septic tank smelled a bit at certain times and you do lose water when other cabins use it at the same time but overall very minor things compared with the brilliant overall experience. Sarah was also really responsive in explaining about the water (As we were worried it would be off permanently) so overall great experience and we can't wait to try more locations!

Our 2 night stay, was amazing. Wished it had been longer! The cabin was beautiful, authentic and everything was of high quality. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. The location was in a private and quite setting with the most amazing, view over the Yorkshire countryside, with just the birds and lambs bringing the nature to life. There is plenty of walks and places to visit in the area, if you want to explore. The copper bath was a real treat, and due to the properties of copper the water stayed warm all the time for a long soak. The only downfall was the outside seating area didn't get much sun because of the trees, but the benefit was it stopped the cabin getting too hot. And it was unfortunate we were unable to use the fire pit, due to the fire risk restrictions in place, however it didn't stop us cooking some fantastic meals, using the locally purchased produce. Overall, a wonderful place and stay to totally relax, slow down and enjoy the more natural, simple way of life. We would highly recommend and will do this again.

Rest + Wild at Downton Hall, Ludlow was everything we expected and more. The Sparrow cabin is finished with nature inspired, colour drenched walls and ceilings with loads of natural light. Lovely touches of natural wood, marble and copper and felt cool and airy in the summer heatwave. I image it would also be really cosy in the winter too with the stove, fire wood and double glazed picture windows. Bed and linen were also really comfortable. Nice touches with the welcome notes and freebies, possible purchases and great instructions for contactless check-in from the hosts. So peaceful, so much wildlife surrounding us, super views and the fire pit / BBQ was so good we bought our own equivalent while having a rare moment scrolling on phones - of which there was very little temptation to do so! I'd happily live there if it wasn't for those pesky kids back home! Never seen my partner get teary eyed leaving anywhere. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place, far better than we ever expected. The track was easy to access and the climb up the hill so worth it. The views are incredible. The cabin itself was calming and thoughtful positioned. The smell of the diffusers only adding to the calm, it was just beautiful. Right down to the tiled power shower and flushing toilet, such a luxury. The outside of the cabin was just as calming, the laid back chairs and large pit perfect for gazing at the view and night stars. The copper bath was bliss, to have piping hot water straight out of a tank rather than having to light a fire etc, pure luxury. The walks from there were varied and easy to find. The village pub was friendly and the moors with so much open space, so relaxing to walk on. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to all. Amazing anniversary break at rest + wild in the Yorkshire dales. The cabin was perfectly equipped and despite being in the middle of a heat wave, surprisingly cool because of the trees. Loved the interior and the kitchen had everything you could need. We followed one of the suggested walks and walked to Masham which was really nice, did cheat and get an Uber back, we blamed the heat! The signage is easy to follow to find the cabins and the text on the day with a bit more info was a great touch. We found the fan slightly noisy but this may have been it working overtime in the heat and there was a notecard that said enjoy the complimentary bath oil but there wasn’t any but honestly I’m clutching, a perfect few days away feeling miles from our normal lives.

I love my visits to Rest + Wild (I have been many times to all sites and in all weathers) but this time it was a little difficult due to the heatwave. I stayed at the Robin in Shropshire. The cabin got so hot and had little shade during the day from the surrounding trees. They did supply a small fan which helped and a text message on the day of arrival with recommendations of how to keep cool (shutting blinds and having baths!) Not Rest + Wilds fault as the weather is beyond their control but maybe nice to warn people in advance or at the time of booking how hot the cabins get.

Just had a fabulous 3 night stay in The Sparrow cabin Shropshire. Cannot recommend enough. The Rest & Wild Team have been so attentive before and during our stay. They gave helpful advice to my questions leading up to the trip and quickly responded to questions whilst away. Fabulous break fabulous organisation. Would definitely try out their other locations.

The weather was bad - but the cabin was so cozy I didn’t care. Perfect for me plus one very laid back dog. I didn’t see or hear a human while I was there, or cars. It was so peaceful with just the distant sound of sheep, the wind and the rain. Everything in the cabin lived up to my expectations from the gorgeous images in the website. I haven’t slept that well for so long! Very comfy bed, soft linens, gorgeous Nkuku dishes, and a couple proper non-stick cast iron pans I enjoyed using. The shower was perfect, plenty of hot water and pressure. I didn’t try the bath due to weather. The little wood stove is great - I used it for the cozy atmosphere mainly as it was only a bit chilly, but it would heat the space up well enough on any winter day I’m sure. I would not recommend if you have more than one dog or large dogs as there’s not much floor space. Especially if you are going to be inside a lot and/or you need room for dog beds. There is a weather-proof box outside which is handy for crates and suitcases once you’ve emptied them inside though. Or you could use the wood store for that. The only thing I’d recommend to the owners is to put up one or two hooks to hang jackets, handbags, dog harnesses, etc. somewhere in the main room.

We were staying in The Willow cabin in the Yorkshire Dales. This was definitely the most secluded cabin, it felt like there was no one around apart from wildlife. The view was spectacular and the cabin was exactly as advertised. Our stay was so relaxing, we would recommend 100%!

We have visited Shropshire and the Yorkshire dales and recommend this to everyone who mentions they are looking for a complete recharge and isolation. Our fave feature is the outdoor baths and the sound of song birds. Just got back from our third visit and already looking to book to return. This place has our hearts

The cabin is located on stunning private grounds in Shropshire. There are roaming sheep and horses on the grounds, the surrounding scenery is pristine, quiet and secluded, perfect for switching off and unwinding. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots to explore. The cabin is beautifully decorated, the bed is comfortable and the shower has good water pressure. The big window by the bed offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside. The outdoor bath tub is great. There is a wood burner too with plenty of logs to keep warm. Upon arrival we were greeted with complementary marshmallows and a small bath oil, which was a nice touch. However, some things could be improved. Firstly, there were cat hairs on the bed when we arrived which obviously was not great. Another downside is that the cabin is not well equipped for longer stays. We stayed for four nights and on our last day we ran out of towels and bin bags. There is very little storage space (the drawers under the bed are big but heavy and impractical), nowhere to hang wet clothes to dry or to store muddy shoes. You either need to pack very lightly or have a shorter stay. The fridge is tiny too so you eventually have to drive to shops or restaurants to eat. There are no plugs which means you can’t use a hairdryer. Finally, the outdoor chairs aren’t protected from the elements, the cushions get wet and dirty so if you’re unlucky with the weather that can be an issue.

The most beautiful location and stunning views from the cabin made this a perfect stay… and a rear treat. There is definitely much to be said about drinking a glass of champagne while soaking in a copper bubble bath outside with sheep and the little lambs for company … a real treat and a much needed get away to relax and recharge …

We had the most fabulous weekend. I have never woken up to a view like it - it was sensational. The cabin was super-comfortable with everything that you could possibly want or need. It was also a joy to organise as the team were brilliant and could not have been more helpful. I would recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from our first experience at Rest + Wild. Despite only booking for 2 nights it was a perfect escape from City life and a chance to switch off and enjoy the peace and quiet. The cabin itself was clean, well presented with a few nice added touches and attention to detail, the coffee ground coffee tasted brilliant! (toasting marshmallows on the open fire during sunset was the highlight). If I had to be slightly picky, it is worth nothing that the wood burner stove glass could do with a decent clean and the outdoor seating was missing cushions which made it a bit uncomfortable after a while and there were a few loose light switches near the bathroom. But overall the positives heavily outweighed these little drawbacks, we enjoyed our time here and will definitely book again soon. Would recommend.

All I can say is HEAVEN! We were blessed with stunning weather for our three night stay, the cabin was gorgeous and the outdoor copper bath was simply wonderful. Having the lovely big fire pit was very welcome for the chilly April evenings. The cabin bed was really comfortable and all the furnishings and crockery etc were great. It’s so good that the cabin runs off grid and runs off solar power. We very much enjoyed watching the sheep and their little lambs running around getting up to mischief and gazing at the non light polluted night sky. This is our new truly special place. Thank you so much Rest + Wild team, we will definitely return.

Simply perfect 😍 If you want somewhere you can switch off and unwind this is it. We stayed in the Yorkshire Dales for my birthday and loved it. The accommodation is well equipped, the bed is extremely comfortable and waking up on a morning to the view from our bed of the surrounding countryside was breathtaking. If Steak cooked in a fire pit is your thing the butchers in Masham is the place to buy your meat, he matures his steaks himself and they taste gorgeous. My wife and eye were like prunes after a couple of hours in the outdoor bath by the fire pit. We did have copious amounts of Baileys, Prosecco and Aperol Spritz (the freezer is just big enough to store the right amountof ice 😁) We will definitely be booking another stay in the not too distant future.

Outstanding venue and facilities, you really couldn’t ask for more. We have now been to all three locations and this was our favourite. The reason for the lower service score is because on arrival an outdoor chair was broken, this was reported immediately but not remedied for 24 hours, over half our stay, meaning we could not sit on the recliner chairs together. Whilst I appreciate somewhat out of your control, we were woken at midnight by the fire alarm going off to signify running out of battery, again went off twice in the early morning forcing us to leave to go to a local village. This again took until the afternoon to be fixed with no response to messages for a considerable period of time. This left a mark on the stay and did mean the second night was an anxious one hoping the alarm didn’t go off again, which it did. In all cases this was battery related and had nothing to do with any fires outside given the frequency of the alarm matching the battery low description on the back of the device. My suggestion would be that this is routinely replaced so that no one else has to experience this. Otherwise an amazing place and brilliant facilities.

Love the concept. We did enjoy our stay ....but.....it was not without it's issues. Our gas ran out on the second morning. There are two large gas bottles for each lodge and there is an auto transfer when one runs out. Both of ours were empty. Surely they should be checked to make sure the second one is full at all times! Not only that because of the concept you have no signal, no wifi etc. We had no way of contacting anyone. Having all the contact details in the joining instructions is not useful if you cannot use them. Eventually I managed to find a spot on the top of a nearby hill (in the middle of "storm Dave") to be able to get hold of the help. Not only that the bath does not run hot unless you run the bath at a gentle pressure. Once we knew that my wife was able to have her sought after hot bath (took ages to fill up but she was happy in the end. This needs to be clearer. Last couple of minor (but annoying) things: 1). the drain for the shower is slow to clear so you end up with water up to your ankles in the shower. 2). The sink plug does not work so you cannot wash up without having the tap running. So....overall great but needs more attention to detail onsite. We paid a lot of money over the Easter weekend and for that you expect no issues at all. Bed really comfy, views excellent, concept great, relaxing (despite Storm Dave's best efforts) and would return despite the issues.

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous, a little tired in places - re light switches and cast iron pans etc, but nevertheless beautiful with fabulous attention to detail. The location of Willow is just beyond words, 100 % private but slotted in the perfect little clearing to offer views to die for 😍. We had the most relaxing week. Amazing walks on the door step , within walking distance of a beautiful Abbey, the river Cover, and 2 fabulous pubs (one posh, one traditional Dales).

Wow - this place is incredible; the attention to detail in the cabin is unreal, the view - breathtaking, the bed - so, so comfortable, and the facilities, given the fact that the cabin wasn't huge, were fabulous. Hot shower, a hot bath outside, we cooked on the fire and listened to the owls until the latest hours. This truly was a rest in the wild - such a lovely treat - and a memory we'll not forget. We had the most incredible stay at Rest + Wild in Exmoor National Park. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully designed and perfectly in tune with the surrounding landscape. The setting is simply stunning, peaceful, remote and immersed in nature, yet still incredibly comfortable. Waking up to the soft light over the hills, watching the sheep and ending the day under a sky full of stars was something special. The accommodation itself had everything we needed + the bed was super comfortable. Making it easy to completely switch off and unwind. We left feeling fully recharged and already talking about when we can come back (or tick off another location!). Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

We went to The Sparrow in Shropshire for my wife's birthday. We took our two Border Terriers and it was absolutely magical! Cuddling up next to the wood burner, roasting marshmallows on the fire, going on lovely countryside walks. It was exactly what we wanted and needed, a perfect couple of nights away. My only regret is not booking more nights away as we didn't want to leave! I can't wait to come back, see you next spring :)
