“Yeah, I think for anyone on the fence about joining Sportsgrad, if you want to be a part of a community and a group of people who are really supportive and helping one another to essentially achieve your goals, like if you want more people in your corner, if you want more warm intros to people that you want to know, or if you want to become better at the crafted, networking, the craft of applications, then that's where the program is going to provide you with value. Yeah. I'm Brent Hubbard. I'm a partnerships manager at the AFL. When school, I discovered SportsGrad, when SportsGrad started, I believe. So when it was. Yeah, a concept or when the. When the podcast started properly. So I reckon, yeah, during lockdown in 2020 through LinkedIn, an approach that I learned through SportsGrad that I applied to my career now was a quote from, from Armen Alwali's podcast episode that states, like, follow your curiosity. I think if you follow your curiosity and follow where you naturally just like putting your attention more, you're going to improve your skills much faster than doing something you're not naturally drawn to. Yeah. So sportsgrade helped me when I became a member through networks, through support, through a shared community. I think that at that time when I joined, I had a few casual roles in sport and a really clear idea of wanting to get into sponsorships and so getting into the membership and getting into the craft of careers, getting into the craft of networking and then through the support of yourself, Ruben, through Ryan as well, and through the many people that were involved with Sportsgrad, there's just such a strong community and willingness to help each other within there, and so that really helps young professionals find their way. So when I got my job in partnerships at the afl. Yeah, yourself, Ruben and Ryan have been helping me so much and so jumped on the phone and let you know the sports grad method works, but I didn't think it would turn into the name of the program. Yeah, I think for anyone on the fence about joining, joining Sportsgrad, if you want to be a part of a community and a group of people who are really supportive and helping one another to essentially achieve your goals, like if you want more people in your corner, if you want more warm intros to people that you want to know, or if you want to become better at the craft of networking, the craft of applications, then that's where the program is going to provide you with value.”
