Video transcript: Hello, I'm Dr. Jacqueline Carlson from South Dakota, USA, and I recommend the Equine Practice Company to new graduates and seasoned practitioners alike. For the new graduates, it's like having a mentor in your pocket. For us more seasoned individuals, there's always something new to learn. Where else can you find the most pertinent topics in Equine Practice and medicine? From all of the international experts. I find the presentations to be very practical and useful. The Practitioner's Program has fit my non-stop, ambulatory vet lifestyle perfectly. It is full of refreshers on fundamentals, such as lameness and imaging, and provides new and concise treatments for so many issues, like colic and wound care. I will listen to modules on my way to a case, like cardiology or dermatology and feel more confident in my approaches and treatments. In a demanding profession it is incredibly helpful to have this information readily available on such important topics. Especially with a whole community counting on me to be ready to treat any condition that walks through the barn.

The webinars are excellent and offer so much valued information! I am a mixed animal veterinarian that has been in practice in the United States for 25 years. Until recently, I did no joint injections on Horses, referring those to lameness specialists. However, my daughter is now in Rodeo and joint injections are very common place. So in order to treat my own horses and those of my friends I signed up for your program. After watching and greatly enjoying the joint injection webinars, I continued to watch the majority of the rest of your webinars. I’ve greatly enjoyed everything. I’ve been learning and appreciate the effort and the platform that you’ve created.

I came across the Equine Practice Company in a random email. I started reading reviews and asking colleagues about their experience. Got very positive feedback, so I decided to try it out. In my practice, it became very useful not only to apply new and different clinical/ surgical techniques , but also to easily explain some procedures to my staff. One example - a different method of protecting the sole when a foot cast is applied. Ive been applying foot casts for 20 years , and now I found a new way to build it, even after 25 years after graduation. Very handy and practical to the point. Just my 2 cents. FWIW.

Saw this program pop up on Facebook and thought I would give it a trial given I am a mixed vet and feel comfortable with after hours colics but have lacked confidence with lameness exams, certain stitch ups, even euthanasias make me nervous still and so this resource has been invaluable. Very practical and easy to implement. Nice to be able to search and do lectures from the area you are wanting to expand and have experts at your fingertips.

Nancy Reams, DVM I first learned about it from a colleague. I graduated over 40 years ago and now only work part-time so I use the lectures to brush up on things I haven't seen in a while or on things that are new since I was in school. I’ve really enjoyed tuning into the Equine Practice Company Mini Lecture Series for the second year in a row. The series consistently delivers insightful and practical content that goes beyond the basics, offering real-world nuance that’s incredibly valuable for equine practitioners. The lecturers are highly knowledgeable and bring a wealth of clinical experience to each topic. I particularly appreciated the session on the intrathecal lignocaine euthanasia technique this year-Dr Jack’s clear explanations and practical tips significantly boosted my confidence in performing the procedure. His thoughtful approach and shared experience made what can be a challenging topic much more approachable. Overall, the series is an excellent resource for continuing education, and I always come away with something I can apply in practice. Thank you to everyone involved in putting it together!

Video transcript: Hi there, My name is Dr. Ashley Budd and I'm a veterinarian here in Newfoundland, Canada. I first became aware of the equine practice co from a friend who shared a link for one of their free master classes on social media. I attended a few of these master classes before becoming a member of the program in November of 2023 and I've been a member ever since. I've been really grateful to be a part of this program, especially when I was taking some time outside of equine practice as it kept me feeling like I was able to maintain like up to date information and knowledge everything equine. I've been really grateful for it in recent history as well because I started my own equine chiropractic practice and a lot of lectures on physio and rehab and other lameness lectures have come in super handy for me since starting this practice. To any new students out there, I would recommend that you take the time to explore the lectures, use the search bar, find exactly what you're looking for and give yourself the time each week to learn from it and you'll be happy you did.

Video transcript: Hi, my name is Louisa, I'm a solo equine practitioner in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, soon to be not solo practitioner and I have been with the Mastermind group since January 2021. It is meant so much to me that's not very quantitative, but I have found a group of like minded individuals who have the same struggles, share the same or very similar issues, some of whom have a lot more experience, others who have different experiences and it's just been so helpful in terms of my mental health for a start, which was an added bonus I have to say, and my ability to run my practice and see it for what it is and change what it is to an actual profitable business. Taking home a salary rather than just robbing Peter to pay Paul, working all hours and really not seeing a lot of job satisfaction, to be honest with you. I enjoy my clinical work, but running the business just was sucking the life out of me and now it's the opposite way around. I enjoy my clinical work, but running the business is I, I look forward to it. I look forward to the mornings that I sit down and I really crunch some numbers and I look forward to my Mastermind groups giving me more goals and more ambition, more knowledge and ability to actually dive down and figure out what I can and what I can't do with the business.

Lameness exams and diagnostics with videos have been very informative, interesting and full of practical ideas. Also, the hoof radiographs education also had good tips for better images while at the same time not annoying the horse. Locally there too many people entering the joints more often than should to me using A2M as their corticosteroid numbers have been exceeded for competition purposes. Doesn't appear to be many owners in favor of resting the horse. Certainly wish there was more time for viewing.

I love the design because veterinarians of any experience level - from students to a gray-haired veterinarian like me who has been in practice for 38 years - can conveniently learn new techniques. The courses are immensely practical, the videos are clear and easy to follow, and the instructors are insanely good at their presentations. I also appreciate the sheer magnitude of the number of courses: I can pick through and find lectures that apply to me, but I also find myself learning new procedures that I had not thought of attempting before. I especially like the friendly, informal tone of the lectures, and I learn a lot from the questions other people ask. If I had to describe the training in three words I would say: "practical, interesting, and fun." If I were only allowed one word I would say: "INVALUABLE." Thank you to Olivia, Kristie, and the rest of your amazing team for the thousands of hours of work you have devoted to bringing this amazing resource to the world of veterinary medicine! I expect you will continue to raise the bar on veterinary continuing education with every new idea you share with all of us. With gratitude and admiration, Carol H. Akers, DVM Junction, Texas

Video transcript: I all in vet school, I had planned to be an equine practitioner. It's what I love, internal med, especially in the rehab, physical therapy aspect of it. Just like that's what makes my heart really happy. When I graduated, life took me in a totally different direction. I went into public health as a veterinarian for seven years. I worked for the usda, but my heart was just not as happy as it would have been if I had gone into equine medicine. My heart always went back to it, and I continued my CES and everything like that. But I always, the further I got out from vet school, the more I thought, well, gee, can I even still do it? I'm so out of practice. And I wanted to make the leap back into it, but I thought I wouldn't be good enough until I found the equine practice company. And the practitioners program really gave me the confidence to think, gee, I can do this. And there are other programs, the lameness program and the dental program. I really want to join those. But I, because of the practitioners program, finally finding it and getting the courage to accept the internship offer has put me in a wonderful place where I'm back in equine medicine and learning. But because it's an internship, I don't have the funds to do the other programs. But I have done some of their free webinars or free CES masterclasses, and they're fabulous, and I plan on doing them when I'm able. But they're all worth their weight in gold, and I would recommend them to anybody because if I can do it, then anybody can do it with this. And it's amazing. So thank you.

I recently enrolled in the Lameness Program to improve my diagnostic and treatment skills, and it's been excellent. The support has kinda blown my mind, receiving detailed, thoughtful responses from THE Dr. Sue Dyson herself to my online questions.. I am a bit star struck. There has been improvement in my radiographic skills, both in positioning, interpretation and confidence. I also approach lameness cases with a broader, more informed perspective. The webinars are of exceptional quality, engaging speakers and practical for daily clinical application. Highly recommend this program, would rate 20/10 for value.

For me The Equine Practice Company CE has been a worthy investment and great review of Equine Veterinary practice. The presenters are seasoned veterans that " cut through the quick" and give you the essentials for making it out in the field. Thus far it's helped me enhance my diagnostic skills and offered the latest in treatment regimens.

I did the lameness talk you offered last year and now some of the mini series. They have been excellent. I don't practice equine medicine anymore but I am a horse owner. I wish this had been available when I did mobile work as I often felt I was not doing a good job and was not confident with my large animal skill set. Hopefully having better access to these resources will encourage more people to stay in the equine field.

The explanations made it so clear to understand the patterns and sounds of different heart murmurs and their origins, making me feel really confident in identifying different type of murmurs and their possible causes.
